Google Sketchup 8 and Trimble Sketchup 13 3D Warehouse Download

Trimble 3D Warehouse announced : 

"Please Note: On January 1, 2017, SketchUp Version 8, and SketchUp Version 2013 file formats will no longer be available for download from 3D Warehouse"

So Trimble 3D Warehouse is reducing access to SKP versions download from the web browser, when you click the download button now you will only see 2018 to 2014 versions, plus the DAE and STL formats, although DAE format can be used for import on lower versions, Sketchup V8 and V13 users are forced now to either to upgrade to the newer versions of Sketchup or find a way to convert files to previous versions.

First, if you are still experiencing issues with your Sketchup 8 or 13 in-app 3D warehouse, whether it's not working, the screen is blank, the search failed or could not connect to 3D Warehouse, visit the official Sketchup help page to edit/fix your .dat file.

Funny thing here is that 3D Warehouse is still hosting SKP V8 and SKP V13 (and even SKP V6) components that can be searched found and downloaded from the in-app (built in) 3D Warehouse (components window) but not from the web browser! which is misleading for users who didn't fix their .dat file or don't use the in-app 3D Warehouse.

And because searching from the web browser is way better than searching from inside Sketchup; large thumbnails, descriptions, suggestions of similar models, collections, comments, advanced search etc... it's good to know that downloading V8 and V13 SKP components is still possible from the web browser depending on the original version of the uploaded file, you need to either check the upload date, or manually test if the download is possible, by copying the direct download link of any version and changing the =s18 =s17 =s16 =s15 =s14 into =s13 =s8 =s7 or =s6 , again this depends on the original version of the uploaded file.

This loophole will allow old users to continue sharing and downloading older versions components unless Trimble decides to completely ban the access to 3Dwarehouse from inside Sketchup V8 and V13

So if you people want to keep 3D Warehouse compatible with All Sketchup versions, and do a favor to your old Sketchup users, upload your models and components as SKP Version 6 so that all users from that version and up will be able see em in the search results inside Sketchup and to download em from the browser using the method above.
